Itinerary
Day 1: Shimla - Sangla
Meet at Shimla railway station and drive to Sangla along the Bapsa river, then visit Chitkul. Overnight Sangla.
Day 2: Sangla - Kalpa
Drive to Kalpa via Kamru fort, a heritage village with views of Kinner Kailash. Overnight Kalpa.
Day 3: Kalpa - Nako
Visit Nako, a village around a small lake where Padmasambhava is believed to have stopped. Overnight Nako.
Day 4: Nako - Tabo
Drive to Tabo, en route visiting Pin valley and Mudh village and the mummy at Gue. Tabo is called the Ajanta of the Himalaya. Overnight Tabo.
Day 5: Tabo - Kaza
Explore the Tabo monastery, then drive to Dhankar Gompa on its cliff and up to Kaza.
Day 6: Kaza
Visit the almost 1000 year old Key Monastery and Kibber, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world.
Day 7: Kaza - Chandertaal
Drive to Chandertaal via the Kunzum pass and camp by the lake, with star gazing at night.
Day 8: Chandertaal - Manali
Visit Chandertaal, a Ramsar wetland site at 4,270 m, then drive to Manali over the Rohtang pass via Khoksar and Marhi.
Day 9: Manali
Half day tour of Manali including the Tibetan monastery, the 5000 year old Hadimba Devi temple and the hot springs at Vashist.
Day 10: Manali - Naggar
Visit Naggar heritage village, Naggar castle and the Nicholas Roerich art gallery, plus the Jana waterfall.
Day 11: Manali
Day at leisure to relax or explore Manali on your own.
Day 12: Manali - Chandigarh
Drive to Chandigarh for the drop. Tour ends.
