Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 : Delhi/Kolkata – Guwahati – Nameri Assistance on arrival and drive to Nameri (220km 6hrs). Check into Eco camp, Nameri National Park. Evening nature walk in around campsite.

Day 02 : Nameri – Dirang Morning drive to Dirang (200km 7hrs). Enroute visit Tipi Orchidarium, a glass house with over 7500 Orchids. Lunch at Bomdila and later drive to Dirang. Overnight at Hotel, Dirang.

Day 03 : Dirang – Tawang (12000 Ft) Morning visit typical Monpa village at Dirang. After viewing the beautiful valley of Dirang overlooking the river and inhabited by colourful tribals, proceed towards the Sela Pass (13703 ft) spend some lovely times by the paradise lake and overnight at Tawang (143 km, 7hrs ). Night rest at Tawang

Day 04 : Tawang Full day explore Tawang Monastery, founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso during 17th century A.D. a contemporary of the fifth Dalai Lama. Later trek to Bramdungchung Ani Gomap, which are the adobe of nuns. Brama durng chung ani gompa is the oldest Ani Gompa in the Tawang District. It is situated in the lap of a far off mountain laced with natural scenery. This Ani Gompa is under the administration of Tawang Monastery.

Evening visit Urgelling Monastery, situated 5km to the south of Tawang Township. It was here in 1683 Tsangyang Gyatso, the sixth Dalai Lama was born later procced to Monpa village. Overnight at Tawang.

Day 05 : Tawang – Zemithang – Tawang Drive to Zemithang (88km, 3hrs) and visit Pangchenpa tribe and see the second largest Stuppa in Asia and later drive back to Tawang. Overnight at Tawang.

Day 06 : Tawang – Bomdila Early morning, drive to Jang to get a breath taking view of waterfalls. Pay homage at the Jashwant Garh Indo Chinese War Memorial and down hill drive (185km, 7hrs) to Bomdila

Day 07 : Bomdila – Itanagar Morning drive to Itanagar (320km 9hrs drive). Itanagar the capital city of Arunachal is a modern settlement built in the vicinity of the ruin of the 14th century fort old capital. Overnight at Hotel, Itanagar.

Day 08 : Itanagar – Ziro Morning visit state museum known as Jawaharlal Nehru Museum, time spent here can really acquaint you with the culture and tradition of this region. All prototype of the bamboo and cane architecture of dwelling of different tribes and apparel, design and functional tools and others handicrafts are display here and later drive to Ziro (150 km 6hrs) Enroute visit Nishi village. Overnight at, Ziro.

Day 09 : Ziro Full day explore Apatani tribal villages, like Hong-Dibbo-Hija-Bulla-Hari etc. The uniqueness of Apatani tribe is tooting on women face and its nose plug. After noon visit museum, emporium and local market. Apatani, like other tribes also believe in sun and the moon as a god and have traditional altar in there home made up of Bamboo and Cane. Overnight at Ziro.

Day 10 : Ziro – Daporijo Morning drive to Daporijo (160 km 7hrs) Enroute visit Nishi and Hill Miri Tribal villages like Raga, Tamin and mori etc. Evening free at local market. Overnight at Daporijo.

Day 11 : Daporijo Full day explore Tagin tribal villages. Overnight at Daporijo.

Day 12 : Daporijo – Along Drive to Along (160km 7hrs), Along the headquarter of west Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh located at an altitude of 300m inhabitants of Adi (Gallong) tribes. Enroute visit tribal villages Tapi, Tribin and Bam, etc. Houses in these villages are artistically built on the hill slop without using nails but only of bamboo and cane. Evening free at Darka Village, one of the largest Adi (Gallong) tribal village. Overnight at Along.

Day 13 : Along Full day explore Adi Gallong and Miyong tribal villages like Kabu and Karjing. Kabu village is just on the bank of river of Yomgo/Syom and on river Yomgo there is hanging bridge made of cane and bamboo. Evening free at one of the largest Gallong tribal village called Darka village which has more the 1500 houses made of bamboo and plam. Overnight Hotel.

Day 14 : Along – Dibrugarh Early morning drive and cross the Brahmaputra river on a ferry to reach Dibrugarh (175 km 9hrs). Overnight at Dibrugarh.

Day 15 : Dibrugarh – Mon Morning drive to Mon (180kms 8hrs), the headquarter of the Konyak tribe who wear traditional dresses with feathered headgear and have tattooed faces. Enroute visit Wakching, a typical Konyak tribal village. Overnight at Mon.

Day 16 : Mon – Shangnyu – Chui – Mon Drive to Shangnyu village, this village is ruled by the Chief Angh is a prominent village in Mon district. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in breadth- believed to be constructed by heavenly angels. Human beings and other creatures are carved on this monument. Memorial stones are also found in front of the Angh’s Palace. History records that good and friendly relationship existed between the Shangnyu and the Ahom Kings of Assam. Shangnyu Angh use to collect taxes from all the villages under his domain-extending from Sibsagar in Assam to the Wanchos in Arunachal. After returning from Shangnyu village visit Mon Village, here also you will find tattooed Konyaks. Post lunch drive to Chui village situated about 8kms from the district headquarters of Mon.

After lunch drive to Langmeing to see head hunting trophies. On way back to Mon visit Chui village still retains its old world charm. One can see the Angh’s mansion and other houses constructed in the true Konyak tradition with palm leaves roofing and the main pillars jutting out. Overnight Mon.

Day 17 : Mon – Longwa – Mon Full day excursion to Longwa (45 km 9hrs) to see the Konyak tribes. Longwa is among the biggest village in the district. As the village straddles the international boundary line, one half of the Angh’s house falls within the Indian territory and the other half lies in Myanmar. However, the whole village is controlled by the Angh (King) and the village council Charirman.

Day 18 : Mon – Tuensang Morning drive to Tuensang (165kms 9hrs), the homeland of Chang Naga. En route visit Changhangshu village of upper Konyak. Overnight at Tuensang.

Day 19 : Tuensang – Noklak – Shamator Drive to Noklak, the land of the Khiamniungan Naga, visit Noklak and Pangsha villages. On the way back to Tuensang visit Shamator, the land of Yimchuger Nagas. Overnight at Tuensang.

Day 20 : Tuensang – Mokokchung 
Morning visit Tuensang village, the oldest and biggest village in Tuensang Dist. It is inhabited by the Chang Nagas. Later drive to Mokokchung (115kms 6hrs drive), This picturesque town is the cultural center of the Ao tribes. The Ao Nagas is famous for their colourful dances. Evening visit Ungma village, the biggest Ao village and looks like a adjunct of Mokokchung town. According to legend, the early Aos settled here first after coming from Chungliyimti. This village is many centuries old and can be of interest to people who have a desire to peep into Ao folklories, customs and traditions. Overnight at Mokokchung.

Day 21 : Mokokchung – Zunheboto Drive to Zunheboto, the home of Sumi Naga. The town is spread out of the clusters of hillocks. Sumi’s are considered to be the Martial tribe among the Nagas. Overnight at Zunheboto.

Day 22 : Zunheboto – Pfutsero via Chatheba Today drive to Pfutsero, the land ofChekhesnag Naga. This beautiful town is situated at an altitude of 2134 Mts above sea level and is the highest altitude in Nagaland. En route visit Satakha Sumi tribal village later proceed to Chetheba Cultural Centre. Overnight at Pfutsero Guest house. 

Day 23 : Pfutsero – Kohima Morning visit Chekhesnag Naga tribal village like Thetsumi, Khezhakeno and Pfutseromi village. Later drive to Kohima (72kms). Overnight at Kohima.

Day 24 : Kohima Am excursion to Khonoma village, this village that lays 20km west of Kohima was known for its fighting prowess in the past. It is also known for the fallow management of its alder trees, which balances nature in the surrounding areas. The beautiful terraces that are carved out of the hill slopes surrounding the village are a sight to behold. These terraces grow over 20 types of paddy at different elevations.

Post Lunch visit War Memorial, Museum later visit Angami tribal villages like Viswema, Jakhama, Kigwema and Phesama. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 25: Kohima – Lahgsa – Tseminyu – Tuophema Drive to Lohgsa village (80kms) to see Lotha Naga near Wokha town. Later visit Tseminyu village. Overnight at Tourist village Touphema.

Day 26 : Touphema – Dimapur Transfer to Dimapur to connect flight to Calcutta. Tour ends.
